- Southlake (Texas) Carroll five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers, Ohio State’s top quarterback target in 2022, committed to Texas on Aug. 14. He is currently ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect, and top quarterback prospect, in the class.
- Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Sierra 2022 five-star pro-style quarterback Maalik Murphy picked up an offer from Morgan State. The Ohio State target is the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and No. 31 overall prospect in the country.
- Atlanta Woodward Academy 2022 three-star running back Damari Alston received offers from Purdue and Notre Dame. He is rated as 247Sports’ No. 35 running back. Alston holds offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Oregon, Alabama, among many others.
- Houston (Texas) Klein Cain 2022 four-star running back Jaydon Blue received an offer from hometown Houston. Blue is the No. 4 running back and No. 63 overall recruit in the nation.
- Cleveland Valley Forge 2022 three-star running back Kentrell Marks received an offer from Kentucky. Marks is 247Sports’ No. 33-ranked tailback and holds offers from Akron, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.
- Chicago St. Rita 2022 four-star wide receiver Kaleb Brown picked up his third crystal ball prediction to Michigan from team insider Brice Marich. Tom Loy and Allen Trieu already predicted Brown will choose the Wolverines, with a confidence level of six. Brown is the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 40 overall recruit, as well as Illinoiss’ No. 1 prospect for 2022.
- Del Valle, Texas, 2022 wide receiver Caleb Burton received an offer from Florida. Burton is the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver and No. 12 overall prospect for 2022.
- Lewisville, Texas, 2022 four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield received his first crystal ball prediction to Texas, with a confidence level of seven. Two crystal ball predictions had previously been put in for Oklahoma, with confidence levels of six and seven. Winfield is the No. 11 wideout and No. 80 overall prospect in his class.
- Acworth, GA., 2022 three-star tight end Bennett Christian is announcing his commitment on Sept. 1. He’s picking between Tennessee and Ohio State, and his Crystal Ball reads 100 percent in favor of the Buckeyes.
- Lexington, KY., 2021 four-star guard Jager Burton’s Crystal Ball has shifted to read 100 percent in favor of Kentucky. The Buckeyes were long considered a strong contender.
- Ohio State extended offers to two 2022 offensive tackles: Charleston, IN., product Kiyaunta Goodwin and Memphis product Aliou Bah.
- Pickerington (Ohio) North five-star defensive end and Ohio State commit Jack Sawyer announced he was opting out of his senior season to focus on preparing for his early enrollment to the Buckeyes.
- Katy (Texas) Tompkins four-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye, who decommitted to Ohio State, announced he would make his decision on where to go on signing day.
- Ohio State offered Mentor, Ohio four-star defensive end Brenan Vernon on Aug. 15. He is ranked as the No. 9 overall player and the top prospect in Ohio for the 2023 class.
- Sumter, South Carolina four-star defensive end Justus Boone received an offer from Ohio State on Aug. 18. He is currently a Florida commit and is ranked as the No. 306 overall recruit in the 2022 class.
- Kettering (Ohio) Archbishop Alter linebacker C.J. Hicks, an Ohio State commit, while still a four-star on 247Sports, earned his fifth star on Rivals, where he ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit in the 2022 class.
- Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley North four-star athlete Dasan McCullough committed to Ohio State on Aug. 18. McCullough, who is expected to primarily play linebacker at the collegiate level, is ranked as the No. 53 overall prospect in 2022.
- After the commitment of McCullough, linebackers coach Al Washington ranks No. 1 in the 2022 recruiter rankings.
- Ohio State extended an offer to 2022 St. Louis Lutheran North three-star cornerback Toriano Pride on Aug. 19.
