Ohio State is still in the hunt for Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star safety Zion Branch, who included the Buckeyes alongside Oklahoma and USC in his latest top three Monday.
He also announced that he’ll be committing on Wednesday, the first day of the Early Signing Period, on ESPN at 12:15 p.m.
Branch, rated as the No. 47 overall prospect in 2022 and the No. 6 safety, was at one point trending towards Ohio State, along with his brother, 2023 five-star wide receiver Zachariah Branch, but USC has taken a hold in their recruitment in recent weeks.
Of the nine 247Sports crystal ball predictions in for Branch, seven have him selecting the Trojans, the majority of which have come in the last couple weeks since Lincoln Riley’s hiring at USC.
“Ohio State is a great program who has showed me I can do great things there and make a big impact,” Branch told On3 Sports.
