Following a windy 21-7 win over Northwestern Saturday, Ohio State announced its players of the game for the week 10 matchup.
Fifth-year defensive tackle Taron Vincent and fourth-year safety Ronnie Hickman took home Co-Defensive Player of the Game honors, while second-year punter Jesse Mirco grabbed Special Teams Player of the Game.
Anchoring OSU’s defensive line from the middle in a physical, run-heavy game, Vincent picked up five tackles, four solo against the Wildcats.
Hickman grabbed 10 total takedowns of his own, second most on the team against Northwestern. Six of his tackles were solo efforts.
Mirco punted seven times against Northwestern, averaging 50.3 yards per boot with a long of 77 yards. Two of his punts were down inside the opposing 20-yard line.
No players on offense received player of the week honors as the Wildcats outgained the Buckeyes 285-283.
