Ohio State made another addition to its 2027 recruiting class when four-star linebacker Prince Goldsby committed to the Buckeyes on Monday.

Goldsby is the second linebacker commitment in the class for OSU, joining four-star Quinton Cypher out of Millbrook High School in North Carolina.

Goldsby is a solid addition to the group, rated as the No. 101 player in the country and the No. 7 linebacker, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Missouri and Nebraska, among others.

Linebackers coach James Laurinaitis has done very well on the recruiting trail since he became a full-time coach at Ohio State, and Goldsby is yet another addition to the list. In the 2026 class, Laurinaitis brought in five-star Cincere Johnson, and four-stars Braxton Rembert and CJ Sanna, and the year before, he landed Riley Pettijohn, TJ Alford and Eli Lee.

Laurinaitis also played a big part in getting Payton Pierce to Columbus when he was on staff as a graduate assistant.

In his junior season, Goldsby had 83 total tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 10 games.

He is the 13th overall commitment in the 2027 class for the Buckeyes and the second in the last eight days after four-star defensive end Wyatt Smith, the son of former Cincinnati Bengal Justin Smith, committed to OSU on May 17.
