Ohio State secured its first cornerback in the 2027 class when four-star Deontay Malone committed to the Buckeyes on Sunday.
Malone was on his official visit to Ohio State this weekend and the Buckeyes obviously did enough to impress him.
Malone is the No. 284 prospect in the country and the No. 33 cornerback, coming out of Massillon Washington High School in Ohio.
He chose Ohio State over Michigan State, which is the only other program he had taken an official visit to this summer. He had no others scheduled, according to 247Sports.
Malone was a two-way player as a junior, recording 25 tackles and three interceptions while catching 34 passes for 498 yards and nine touchdowns.
He joins four-star safety Eli Johnson and three-star safety Angelo Smith in the secondary in the 2027 class and is the 14th overall commitment in the class for the Buckeyes.
