After entering the transfer portal on Tuesday, former Ohio State wide receiver Kyion Grayes announced Sunday on Twitter that he has committed to Cal.
Grayes only got into two games at Ohio State, both of which were in the 2022 season, only catching one pass for two yards. In 2023 he was a mainstay on the injury report with a walking boot on for much of the year.
He came to the Buckeyes as a four-star prospect, the No. 88 ranked recruit in the 2022 class, the 14th best wide receiver in the class and the second-best player in the state of Arizona according to 247Sports composite ranking.
With how stacked the wide receiver position looks going into the 2024 season with Emeka Egbuka, Jayden Ballard, Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss, and Bryson Rodgers returning for another season, along with the arrival of freshman Jeremiah Smith, Grayes didnât seem to have an easy path to playing time this year either, so itâs no surprise to see him head somewhere else for his three years of eligibility remaining.
