Ohio State seems to have its latest five-star wide receiver commitment locked in on being a Buckeye, with Jamier Brown shutting down his recruitment on Sunday.
Brown, who transferred to Big Walnut in Sunbury, Ohio, over the offseason, told reporters after the Under Armour Next camp at Pickerington North High School that he won’t visit any other schools before he signs with the Buckeyes.
“I think time is just too close to just be playing around. I know where I want to go, and that’s Ohio State, so I really just don’t see no point in going anywhere else, honestly,” Brown said.
He had been previously considering making official visits to Miami and Oregon, but now he says that he will be a Buckeye no matter what.
Brown has been committed to Ohio State since November 2024, and while there may have been questions about whether he would stick around after the departure of former wide receivers coach Brian Hartline, Brown never wavered and stuck with OSU.
As the No. 21 recruit in the 2027 class and the No. 4-ranked wide receiver by 247Sports composite rankings, Brown will be a strong addition to the roster when he gets to campus.
Of course, Brown isn’t officially a Buckeye until he signs his name on the dotted line on signing day. Chris Henry Jr., who ended up sticking with Ohio State in December, said that he had shut his recruitment down much earlier than signing day, but his decision still came down to the final day of the early signing period.
