Ohio State men’s basketball may already have two commitments for the 2021 class, but the Buckeyes could be looking for another in Wichita (Kan.) Sunrise Christian five-star forward Kendall Brown, along with Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Illinois, Kansas, Marquette, Maryland, Minnesota and Virginia.

Brown is ranked as the fifth-best small forward, the top prospect in the state of Kansas and the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2021 class, and was compared to 14-year NBA veteran Matt Barnes by 247Sports director of basketball scouting Jerry Meyer.

“Extremely athletic with good length for a wing. Very quick getting off the floor. A finesse slasher type player. Has ability to finish tough shots,” Meyer wrote on Brown. “Not a long range shooter at this point. Handles and passes well. Serves as secondary ball handler. Disruptive and versatile defender. Improving shooting range is key to his development.”

There is only one crystal ball prediction currently for Brown, with Sean Bock of HawkeyeInsider.com predicting the 6-7, 205-pound small forward to the Jayhawks. Ohio State sent an offer to Brown on Dec. 21, according to his Twitter.

Ohio State currently has the sixth-best recruiting class in 2021 thanks to its pair of commitments in Willoughby (Ohio) Andrews Osborne Academy four-star combo guard Meechie Johnson and Convoy (Ohio) Crestview three-star power forward Kalen Etzler.
