Richfield (Ohio) Revere four-star offensive guard Ben Christman officially ended his recruitment when he signed with Ohio State during the first day of the Early Signing Period on Wednesday.

The 6-6, 299-pound Christman, who is considered the sixth-best offensive guard and No. 124 prospect overall in the class of 2021, landed offer from offensive line coach Greg Studrawa in February 2019 and instantly put the Buckeyes at the top of his list. He visited campus for the first time that March, then returned for the program’s inaugural Bash & BBQ in June 2019, which is when he decided Columbus was the place to be.

Christman announced his commitment just five days later, choosing Ohio State over early scholarship offers from some of the nation’s top programs, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

“The culture of Ohio State was the difference,” Christman told Buckeye Sports Bulletin earlier this month. “Knowing that I wanted to be a leader of a class and just the opportunities that you can have at Ohio State, I couldn’t pass on it.”

Christman is joined in Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class by Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal five-star guard Donovan Jackson and Floyds Knobs (Ind.) Floyd Central four-star offensive tackle Zen Michalski.
