Ohio State tight end Sam Hart announced Tuesday that he will enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer after three seasons with the Buckeyes.

Hart will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at his new school. He did not record a statistic during his time with the Buckeyes, though he did appear in five games in 2022, including Ohio State’s loss to Georgia in the College Football Playoff following an injury to tight end Cade Stover. A former four-star recruit out of Aurora, Colo., Hart was a member of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class.

Even with the expected departure of Stover, Ohio State is largely set at tight end next year. The Buckeyes will return Gee Scott Jr., Jelani Thurman and Bennett Christian while welcoming in incoming freshmen Max LeBlanc and Damarion Witten, as well as transfer Will Kacmarek from Ohio University.
