Ohio State junior running back Quinshon Judkins reportedly underwent a minor procedure on his hand this week but is not expected to miss any time this season.
According to multiple outlets, Judkins had been dealing with the injury leading up to the team’s 32-31 loss to Oregon last Saturday and got it repaired soon after during the team’s off week.
Judkins had his worst game in his early Buckeye career against the Ducks, rushing for just 23 yards and one score on 11 carries, good for a season-low average of 2.1 yards per tote.
He also recorded his first fumble since his freshman season at Ole Miss during the Buckeyes’ second drive of the game, which proved to be a crucial momentum swing in the game, setting up Oregon for an eventual touchdown to tie the game at 7 after going down 7-0 on the very first drive of the game.
Although it is unknown if the hand injury limited his production against the Ducks — he was not wearing a cast or any guard wear around either hand both before or during the game — Judkins is expected to be ready to play for Ohio State’s next game against Nebraska on Oct. 26 (noon, FOX).
Ohio State will obviously benefit from having a healthy Judkins in the lineup, as the former Ole Miss Rebel has already put together a strong junior season for the Buckeyes. In his first season with the Buckeyes since transferring from Ole Miss last offseason, the former first-team All-SEC back leads the team with 491 rushing yards and six scores on 71 carries (6.9-yard average), marks that rank seventh, tied for fifth, tied for 13th and tied for third in the Big Ten, respectively.
Buckeye Sports Bulletin will have more on this story as news unfolds.
