Ohio State punter Jesse Mirco has entered the transfer portal, becoming the 15th Buckeye to leave the program through the portal.
His decision comes right after he had one of the best games of his career in the Cotton Bowl when he had eight punts for a total of 386 yards for an average of 48.2 per punt. His long was 61 yards and three of them were pinned inside the 20-yard line. This season, Mirco averaged 43.5 yards on 50 punts.
Mirco only has one more year of college eligibility after three seasons with the Buckeyes. He average 43.9 yards per punt from 130 punts over his entire career with Ohio State, with a long of 77 yards against Northwestern last season in what was a very windy game against Northwestern.
Joe McGuire, a freshman who is also from Australia like Mirco, is the only punter left on the roster for Ohio State.
