Ohio State freshman offensive lineman Luke Wypler became the 14th player to lose his black stripe this fall, doing so following practice on Wednesday evening.

“I just want to say a big thanks to coach Mick (Marotti) and his staff, (athletic trainer) Shaun (Barnhouse) and his staff, and (nutritionist) Kayla (Olson),” Wypler said. “Go Bucks!”

A former four-star prospect from Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional, Wypler has been competing with sophomore Matthew Jones to be Josh Myers’ backup at center. He joins fellow offensive lineman Paris Johnson and Josh Fryar in shedding his stripe this fall.
