
Former Ohio State and current Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper was arrested on Thursday night on domestic violence charges.
Cooper was booked at 2:38 a.m. in Douglas County, Colo., after being arrested for an incident that occurred at 11:16 p.m. on Thursday.
The 28-year-old is being held on three separate charges, which are one count of domestic violence summons and complaint, one count of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief.
The Broncos released a statement on the matter Friday morning.
“We are aware of the matter and are gathering more information,” the statement read.
Cooper appeared before a judge on Friday morning and has another hearing scheduled for Monday.
Cooper played with the Buckeyes from 2016-2020 before being selected by the Broncos in the 2021 NFL draft. He had a breakout season with Denver in 2024 with 10.5 sacks, which earned him a four-year, $60 million contract.
