Ohio State men’s basketball added another international piece to its frontcourt on Friday, as Serbian center Vuk Lazarevic announced his commitment to the Buckeyes, his agent Stevan Petrovic of Agency55 told Rivals.
Lazarevic, a left-handed center from Belgrade, Serbia chose Ohio State over UConn after recently visiting the Huskies, according to 247Sports.
The 7-1, 200-pound prospect spent last season at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, the same school attended by current Buckeye guard John Mobley Jr. and former Ohio State guard Roddy Gayle Jr. In his senior season, Lazarevic averaged eight points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 67 percent from the field.
Before coming to the United States, Lazarevic rose through the youth system of KK Crvena Zvezda and competed for its U19 team in the ABA League U19 competition.
The commitment comes as somewhat of a surprise, with the Buckeyes already appearing to have a stacked frontcourt heading into the 2026-27 season.
Ohio State’s frontcourt now features significant size, with returning centers Josh Ojianwuna and Ivan Njegovan, along with Kentucky transfer Andrija Jelavic and four-star freshman Alex Smith. Lazarevic becomes the fourth player on the Buckeyes’ 2026-27 roster standing 6-10 or taller.
