Ohio State added to its 2027 class for the first time since December when four-star offensive tackle Jimmy Kalis committed to the Buckeyes on Friday.
Kalis is the 10th commitment in the class and the fourth offensive lineman, continuing a very strong start to the cycle for OL coach Tyler Bowen in his first full recruiting cycle with the Buckeyes.
By 247Sports composite rankings, Kalis is the No. 308 prospect in the country and the No. 30 offensive tackle out of Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
He joins four-star offensive linemen Kellen Wymer and Brody McNeel and three-star lineman Mason Wilt in the class.
Kalis is the starting left tackle for his high school team at 6-6, 280 pounds. His dad, Todd Kalis, played at Arizona State as an offensive lineman and spent time in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals.
Kalis is scheduled to be on campus for the spring game on Saturday along with many more visitors.
With spring practices coming to an end and official visit season approaching, the Buckeyes will certainly speed up their additions to the 2027 class, still with over six months to go until the early signing period in December.
