Following Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud’s record-breaking outing in a 39-37 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday, the former Ohio State signal caller was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Stroud threw for a rookie-record 470 passing yards while completing 71.4 percent (30 of 42) of his passes, and he tied another rookie record by throwing for five touchdowns, including a 15-yard score with just six seconds remaining to put the Texans ahead.

Through eight games this season, Stroud has completed 62.0 percent (173 of 279) of his passes for 2,270 yards and 14 touchdowns while throwing just one interception, which did not come until the sixth game of his career. He was previously named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Month in September.
