A former Ohio State star women’s hooper captured a landmark achievement for her WNBA career Saturday.
Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell made her first All-Star team, announced as part of the reserve lineup via the WNBA’s Twitter account.
In 15 games with the Fever this season, Mitchell has averaged 17.0 points and 2.5 assists while shooting a blistering 38.4 percent from three. She’s been a consistent scoring option, tallying 20 points in five contests while falling short of 10 only once.
Mitchell is fresh off a career year in 2022, averaging 18.4 points and 4.2 assists per game. She’s been with Indiana all six of her WNBA seasons to this point after the team selected her with the second overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
For her career, Mitchell averages 16.0 points and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 36.7 percent from outside the arc.
