Early Signing Period: Four-Star Defensive Lineman Damari Simeon Signs With Ohio State

Get to know Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine Prep four-star defensive lineman Damari Simeon, who signed with Ohio State on Wednesday.

Height, Weight: 6-3, 275

247Sports Composite Rankings: Simeon is the No. 194 player in the country, the No. 22 defensive lineman and the No. 3 player in New Jersey.

Commitment Date: Simeon committed to Ohio State on June 27, 2025.

Other Offers: Texas, Penn State, Michigan, Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Miami (Fla.) Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Texas A&M, USC, Washington, Wisconsin.

How He Did In High School: In his 2024 junior season, Simeon finished with 28 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in just nine games, according to MaxPreps. He also played some tight end, where he was a blocker.

Where He Fits In 2026: It can be tough to earn playing time as a freshman in the trenches, but Jarquez Carter proved this year that it can be done before he was injured. With Eddrick Houston and Will Smith Jr. both returning to the lineup, and many more young interior defensive linemen ready to try to earn more playing time, it will be tough for Simeon to get any meaningful snaps for the Buckeyes, but he could see the field in blowouts.
