How He Did In High School: Lockhart had an impressive senior season at Basha, collecting 41 tackles (two for loss), a sack and seven pass breakups. He was also a noted two-way player, rushing for 561 yards and 10 touchdowns over the past three seasons, and had six interceptions across his sophomore and junior campaigns with the Bears.
Where He Fits For 2024: Ohio State will presumably start Davison Igbinosun and Jordan Hancock at cornerback next season, with current freshmen Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Calvin Simpson-Hunt set to back them up, leaving little wiggle room for Lockhart and the other incoming freshmen corners.
But, as the third-ranked cornerback in the class behind Aaron Scott and Bryce West, it serves as an opportunity for Lockhart to sit back and learn during what could be a redshirt season, while potentially making appearances on special teams.
