Recruiting Outlook: Ohio State Gains Commitments From Tyleik Williams, Bennett Christian

  • Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes 2022 four-star dual-threat quarterback Jacurri Brown received an offer from Arizona State. Brown is the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback and No. 122 overall prospect in the country. 
  • Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 2022 four-star running back Kaytron Allen tweeted that he picked up offers from Miami (Fla.) and Temple. Allen is the No. 11 running back and No. 134 overall recruit in the nation.
  • Atlanta Woodward Academy 2022 four-star running back Damari Alston received an offer from Auburn. Alston is the No. 27 running back and No. 262 overall prospect nationally. 
  • Houston (Texas) Klein Cain 2022 four-star running back Jaydon Blue received an offer from Missouri. Blue is the No. 4 running back in the nation and No. 51 recruit overall in the country. 
  • West Bloomfield, Mich., 2022 four-star running back Dillon Tatum picked up an offer from Georgia. Tatum is the No. 25 running back and No. 243 overall prospect nationally, as well as the fifth-best recruit in Michigan.
  • Ohio State 2021 four-star wide receiver commit Jayden Ballard went over a defender to haul in  a 31-yard touchdown reception in his first game of his senior season for Massillon (Ohio) Washington.
  • Ohio State 2021 four-star wide receiver commit Marvin Harrison Jr., who is listed as 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, posted a photo of his updated size at 6-foot-5 and 203 pounds
  • St. Louis Cardinal Ritter College Prep 2022 wide receiver Luther Burden listed Ohio State among his top schools. Burden is the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 14 overall prospect in the nation, as well Missouri’s top recruit. 
  • Pleasant Grove, Utah, 2022 wide receiver Darrius Clemons picked up offers from Boise State and UCLA. Clemons is the No. 17-ranked wideout and No. 150 overall recruit in the country.
  • Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2022 wide receiver C.J. Williams received an offer from Howard and UCLA. Williams is the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 35 overall prospect nationally. 
  • Lewisville, Texas, 2022 four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield received an offer from UNLV. Winfield is rated as the No. 12 wide receiver and No. 73 overall recruit in the nation. 
  • Acworth (Ga.) Allatoona 2022 three-star tight end Bennett Christian announced his commitment to Ohio State. Christian is the No. 19 tight end and No. 370 overall prospect in the nation.
  • Dickinson, Texas, 2022 tight end Donovan Green received an offer from Maryland. Green is the No. 2 tight end and No. 96 overall prospect in the country.
  • Saint Louis DeSmet 2023 tight end Mac Markway picked up an offer from Arkansas. Markway is a four-star prospect, ranked as the No. 3 tight end and No. 100 overall recruit nationally by 247Sports.
  • Lexington, KY., 2021 four-star offensive guard Jager Burton announced his commitment to Kentucky. The Wildcats and Buckeyes were his final two schools.
  • Ohio State offered 2022 Englewood, CO., three-star offensive tackle George Fitzpatrick. He’s considered the No. 487 player in the 247Sports composite and the No. 45 tackle.
  • Manassas (Va.) Unity Reed four-star defensive tackle Tyleik Williams committed to Ohio State on Aug. 27. He is ranked as the 10th-best DT and No. 160 prospect overall in the 2021 class, and the commitment moved the Buckeyes back over Alabama for the top spot in the 2021 recruiting rankings.
  • Columbus (Ga.) Hardaway four-star defensive tackle Mykel Williams tweeted out an Ohio State graphic on Sept. 1. He is ranked as the No. 48 overall prospect and the fifth-best DT in 2022.
  • Hilton Head (S.C.) Island four-star linebacker Jaylen Sneed tweeted out the same sort of Ohio State graphic on the same day. Sneed is ranked as the fifth-best outside linebacker and No. 89 prospect overall in the 2022 class.
  • Salisbury, N.C. four-star linebacker Jalon Walker listed Ohio State in his top 10 schools, along with Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Texas and Texas A&M.
  • Ohio State extended an offer to 2023 Pickerington (Ohio) Central safety Sonny Styles, the son of former linebacker Lorenzo Styles, after he had an interception and a blocked punt return for a touchdown in the Tigers’ nationally televised win over Pickerington North on Aug. 30.
