Ohio State Punter Anthony Venneri Enters Transfer Portal

Ohio State punter Anthony Venneri entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, according to reports.

Venneri transferred to Ohio State after averaging over 43 yards per punt in two seasons at Buffalo, but he didn’t win the Buckeyes’ battle for the starting punter job and recorded no stats in 2024.

Venneri, a 6-0, 225 native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, enters the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.

Venneri’s departure from Ohio State leaves the Buckeyes with returning starter Joe McGuire and 6-7, 255, sophomore punter Nick McLarty.

Venneri is the first Ohio State player to enter the transfer portal in the secondary window, which opened on Wednesday and will close on April 25.
