Ohio State fifth-year forward Jamison Battle will showcase his three-point shooting skills on a national stage during Final Four weekend, as he has accepted an invitation to compete in the Hanes Men’s 3-Point Championship held at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix on April 4.

Battle will test his three-point shooting skills alongside seven other participants in the contest, which is set to air live on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. The event will also include a College Slam Dunk Championship and Women’s 3-Point Championships. If Battle advances to the next round of the contest, he will then compete in the Sketchers Battle of the Champions.

While an official list of the participants has yet to be released, some notable names will be competing alongside Battle, including Northwestern guard Boo Buie — who finished the season just one-percentage point above Battle in three-point shooting in the Big Ten at 43.4 percent — and Oakland guard Jack Gohlke — who became an NCAA Tournament sensation after netting 10 threes in 20 attempts, just one short of the tournament record, in the Grizzlies’ first-round upset win over No. 3 seed Kentucky.

Battle earns the invitation after emerging as one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the country in his final collegiate season. The Robbinsville, Minnesota, native connected on a team-high 91 of his 210 attempts from beyond the arc in his lone season for Ohio State, good for a career-high 43.3 percent. His percentage also ranked second in the Big Ten behind Buie and ninth in the nation.
