Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. added another trophy to his shelf on Thursday after he was named the winner of the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, which is given to the best player in the Big Ten Conference.

Harrison was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Receiver of the Year when it was announced on Nov. 29, and now he is recognized as the best overall player in the entire conference after it was voted on by the Big Ten coaches.

He is the first winner from Ohio State since quarterback Justin Fields took home the honor in 2020. He is only the fifth wide receiver to ever win the award, and the first since Braylon Edwards from Michigan won it in 2004.

If Harrison doesn’t play in the bowl game, he finishes the year with 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns, making him the first Buckeye to ever have two 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

Harrison also was a unanimous All-American after he was named first-team by the American Football Coaches Association earlier today, won the Biletnikoff Award which is given to the best pass catcher in college football, and finished fourth in the Heisman voting.
