Ohio State picked up a commitment on Saturday from Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star tight end Max LeBlanc (6-4, 222), marking the first verbal pledge at that position for the Buckeyes in this recruiting cycle.

LeBlanc is the No. 270 overall prospect and No. 13 tight end in the class, and he committed to Ohio State over his other finalists, including Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee.

He was offered by Ohio State in January and visited campus for the first time on March 30, his last trip to a school prior to his commitment, and it left a strong enough impression to secure LeBlanc’s verbal pledge.

LeBlanc fills several roles for Baylor School, lining up outside at receiver while also lining up as a traditional tight end, offering the ability to move downfield while also acting as an accomplished blocker.

He is the 11th commitment in Ohio State’s recruiting class and their ninth on the offensive side of the ball. The other key target for the Buckeyes at tight end is Cleveland Glenville four-star Damarion Witten (6-4, 215).
