Former Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry was reportedly hired by NBC as an analyst for the network’s Big Ten football coverage this fall.

As first reported by Awful Announcing on Thursday, Perry will be joining Maria Taylor, who formerly served as the host on College GameDay, as part of NBC’s studio show — which AA also reported will travel to the sites of games several weeks during the season. Outside of Perry and Taylor, NBC has also set its sights on landing either former Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt or Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson for the show.

Perry will join NBC after serving as an analyst for Big Ten Network, working in both studio and game coverage with BTN. He was nominated for a Sports Emmy in 2021 in the Emerging On-Air Talent category.

Prior to his TV career, Perry aided the Buckeyes to the 2014 College Football Playoff National Championship during his four-year run at Ohio State from 2012-15. While with the Buckeyes, Perry racked up 296 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 7 1/2 sacks, and emerged as the No. 102 overall pick to the San Diego Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft. Perry spent two seasons in the NFL, playing for the Chargers and Indianapolis Colts, where he collected 22 tackles.

Ohio State already has a primetime NBC game on its schedule, as it will host Michigan State on Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m., which the network announced on Monday.
