Availability Report: TreVeyon Henderson Among Nine Players Out Against Maryland

By October 7, 2023 (10:00 am)Football

Ohio State will be without the team’s leading rusher for Saturday’s noon kickoff against Maryland, as running back TreVeyon Henderson will be out with an undisclosed injury.

After being in and out of the lineup last season, Henderson had played in all four games this year, rushing for 295 yards and five touchdowns, averaging a team-high 6.7 yards per carry.

With Henderson on the sidelines, Ohio State will look to running backs Chip Trayanum and Miyan Williams, who has been using sparingly this season but will likely step into a larger role against the Terrapins, which Day now seems to have alluded to earlier this week.

“We’re looking forward to getting Miyan going a little bit this week,” Day said on his weekly radio appearance on Thursday. “He’s had a really good week of practice, so that’s good.”

Henderson is one of nine players out against Maryland, though only two are notable contributors for the Buckeyes, with sophomore cornerback Jyaire Brown also out against the Terrapins.

They are joined by wide receivers Nolan Baudo and Kyion Graves, as well as the five mainstays on the availability report this season: tight end Zak Herbstreit, linebacker Arvell Reese, defensive lineman Will Smith Jr., wide receiver Reis Stocksdale and linebacker Kourt Williams II.

Coming out of the off week, Ohio State will welcome back safety Cameron Martinez, who was out against Notre Dame.
