
No. 2 Ohio State (15-0, 4-0 Big Ten) delivered another commanding victory Friday night, defeating No. 25 Wisconsin (10-3, 2-3 Big Ten) 30-10 at the Covelli Center in Columbus.
For the first time since its dual against NC State on Dec. 12, 2025, Ohio State opened the competition with a loss at 125 pounds as Vinny Kilkeary fell to Wisconsin’s No. 16 Nicolar Rivera by a 12-7 decision.
The Buckeyes then got back to their usual low-weight dominance as No. 2 Ben Davino defeated the Badgers’ No. 11 Zan Fugitt via a 7-2 decision at 133 pounds before No. 1 Jesse Mendez claimed a win by fall in just 51 seconds over Carson Exferd to give Ohio State a 9-3 lead after three matches.
Wisconsin battled back with back-to-back victories at 149 and 157 pounds as No. 15 Joseph Zargo upset Ohio State’s Ethan Stiles on a 7-4 sudden victory. Stiles led 4-1 midway through the third period, but a late third-period takedown and a decisive takedown in extra time lifted Wisconsin’s Zargo to the win.
Wisconsin’s Luke Medler then pulled off a 20-9 win by major decision over Landon Desselle to give Ohio State its third deficit of the season at 10-9. The Buckeyes also fell behind early against NC State and late against Nebraska last Sunday before ultimately securing dual victories.
Ohio State did just that at the five upper weights, winning all five bouts, including four that went to extra points.
At 165 pounds, e’Than Birden put the Buckeyes back in front with a 16-3 major decision over Wisconsin’s No. 24 Cody Goebel.
Ohio State continued to pull away at 174 pounds as No. 5 Carson Kharchla secured a 17-2 technical fall over the Badgers’ Luke Condon to extend the Buckeyes’ lead to 18-10. The momentum only grew at 184, where No. 7 Dylan Fishback dominated David Malin with a 15-0 technical fall. Ohio State 197-pounder No. 10 Luke Geog ended the Buckeyes’ run of four straight wins by extra points, earning a 17-3 major decision against Wisconsin’s Wyatt Ingham.
At heavyweight, No. 3 Nick Feldman then capped off Ohio State’s victory with a 6-4 win by decision over No. 9 Braxton Amos of Wisconsin. Feldman was down 4-1 after the second period, but an escape and a takedown earned the heavyweight the decisive victory to secure the Buckeyes’ 30-10 win.
Ohio State will remain home for a rivalry dual with No. 13 Michigan (8-2, 4-0 Big Ten) on Sunday at noon.
