Ohio State’s hot week on the recruiting trail continues with three-star interior offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm pledging his services to the Buckeyes on Friday.
He is the son of former Ohio State linebacker Matt Wilhelm, who played with the Buckeyes from 1999-2002 before going on to an eight-year NFL career.
Wilhelm is ranked the No. 1,276 player in the country, the No. 101 interior lineman and the No. 56 player in Ohio, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
He had been committed to North Carolina since June 1, but the Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward prospect has decided that he wants to remain in state for his college ball.
His commitment comes days after offensive tackle Aaron Thomas decommitted from the Buckeyes and subsequently pledged to Minnesota. Wilhelm joins four-star offensive tackles Sam Greer and Maxwell Riley along with three-star interior lineman Tucker Smith and three-star tackle Landry Brede in the Buckeyes’ 2026 class.
