Ohio State alums and tennis duo Robert Cash and JJ Tracy reached the quarterfinals of the US Open on Tuesday. The former Buckeyes defeated Argentines Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni 6-3, 6-3 and will face Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul on Wednesday with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

At Ohio State, Cash and Tracy won the national championship as a duo and have already had a solid start to their professional careers. Cash and Tracy appeared in other grand slam events this year, including the French Open and Wimbledon, but lost in the first round of the French Open and only made it as far as the second round at Wimbledon.

Fellow former Buckeye Matej Vocel is also a quarterfinalist at the US Open. Vocel and his partner Tomas Machac advanced on Tuesday after defeating Fernando Romboli and John-Patrick Smith in three sets. Vocel and Mahac will face Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
