Running Backs Legend Bey And Anthony “Turbo” Rogers Likely Out For Spring Game

Ohio State running backs Legend Bey and Anthony “Turbo” Rogers will likely not see the field for the Buckeyes’ spring game on Saturday at Ohio Stadium, head coach Ryan Day told reporters Monday.

“Turbo is probably not going to make it. Legend is probably not going to make it. So we’re down running backs,” Day said.

Day said that freshman Bey had been dealing with a “hamstring injury that’s been bothering him for a couple of weeks,” while adding that he’s been rehabbing and working to get back on the field.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Bey, out of North Forney, Texas, was rated the No. 126 overall prospect and the No. 5 athlete in the 2026 class. He also posted a 4.33-second 40-yard dash.

The sophomore Rogers, on the other hand, is likely out again after spending much of the 2025 season hampered by injuries and failing to see the field. A product of Carver High School in Montgomery, Ala. Rogers was a former four-star recruit and the No. 97 overall prospect in the class of 2025.

While Ohio State’s running backs will be limited in the spring game, along with Bey and Rogers, Bo Jackson and Isaiah West have missed the entire spring for the Buckeyes after undergoing shoulder surgeries. Day emphasized it as an opportunity to see more from the passing offense, pass protection, and pass rush.

“We’ll have to throw the ball some, which is good for the quarterbacks to get the ball out of their hand and see how they handle the environment, then they’ll get a chance to see the ball with the wide receivers and see what those guys do, and then we’ll also see the pass rush and pass protection,” Day said. “Not that we won’t run the ball, but with those guys down, you probably won’t get as much of that. We want to see how guys respond in that environment, that will be the biggest thing.”
