According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, former Penn State defensive end and one of the highest-ranked players in the transfer portal, Chaz Coleman is expected to visit Ohio State on Tuesday.

Coleman, a native of Warren, Ohio, considered Ohio State out of high school before ultimately committing to and signing with Penn State. Despite being ranked as the No. 293 player in the country, the No. 31 defensive end and the No. 9 player out of the state of Ohio by 247Sports’ composite rankings, Coleman had 8 total tackles, including three for loss, one sack, a pass deflection and a forced fumble.

Coleman is ranked as the No. 5 player in the transfer portal and the No. 1 defensive end.

Nakos wrote that Coleman has also taken visits to LSU and Tennessee, but “the Buckeyes are willing to do what it takes to land the top pass rusher.”

Defensive end is a position of need for the Buckeyes. Ohio State has already lost star pass rusher Caden Curry to graduation and may lose fellow 2025 starter Kenyatta Jackson Jr. to the NFL draft. Additionally, backup defensive ends C.J. Hicks and Logan George have also entered the transfer portal.
