In a release of its 2025-26 Big Ten schedule on Wednesday, it was revealed that Ohio State will take on national contenders like USC and UCLA at home and will play Maryland twice.
Like every other team in the conference, the Buckeyes will play eighteen Big Ten games and will square off against every Big Ten foe.
In addition to USC and UCLA, the Buckeyes’ home-only opponents are Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
Only on the road, the Buckeyes will face off against Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Washington and Oregon.
Coming off a 26-7 overall record and a 13-5 record in Big Ten play, Ohio State will try to improve its tied-third finish in the Big Ten Standings last season. In 2024-25, the Buckeyes were in part doomed by road losses to future NCAA Tournament No. 1 seeds UCLA and USC. In 2025-26, head coach Kevin McGuff’s squad will instead square off with the elite programs in the confines of their own arena.
The Buckeyes’ road schedule is marked by their first trip out west to take on Oregon and Washington in a Big Ten contest. Both the Huskies and the Ducks are coming off NCAA tournament appearances in 2024-25.
The Buckeyes’ extra Big Ten opponent – Maryland – comes as no surprise, considering they’ve squared off against the Terrapins twice in the regular season every year since 2020-21. Ohio State nearly completed the regular-season sweep of Maryland but were defeated by a last-second three-point shot in overtime to lose 93-90 in a March 2 game in College Park, Md
