Former Ohio State Director of Player Personnel Sam Petitto is on his way to LSU, according to a report from On3.
With the Tigers, Petitto will operate as the team’s director of scouting and personnel strategy. Petitto’s stint in Columbus wasn’t very long, as he first came to the Buckeyes from Alabama in Feb. 2024. Petitto spent eight seasons as Alabama’s director of personnel operations, and during that time, he not only helped then-Alabama head coach Nick Saban sign several top-ranked recruiting classes, but he also aided the Crimson Tide in landing current Buckeyes like junior safety Caleb Downs and redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin.
Petitto, a native of Amite, Louisiana, previously was the director of player personnel at Georgia for two seasons and also spent time at North Carolina, Grambling State and Southeastern Louisiana.
According to the On3 report, Petitto has a notable relationship with Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic five-star safety and Ohio State commit Blaine Bradford. LSU, which signed Bradford’s brother, Jacob, during the 2025 cycle, was thought to be a favorite to sign him before he committed to Ohio State.
