Ohio State wide receiver Kyle Parker became the first Buckeye to shed their black stripe this spring, wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton announced Saturday.

Parker, a former LSU transfer, has stood out during Ohio State’s spring camp, catching multiple passes in the Buckeyes’ 7-on-7 drills during the opening week of practice, while drawing strong praise from Hankton on Saturday.

“(Parker) brings a mindset of physicality,” Hankton said. “He’s really tough with the football, has a high football IQ, and is very versatile.”

The 5-10, 195-pound receiver caught 31 passes for 330 yards and four touchdowns in his redshirt sophomore campaign with the Tigers. Parker also hauled in three passes for 55 yards and a score in his redshirt freshman campaign before going down with a season-ending injury.

Hankton coached Parker in each of his collegiate seasons, serving as LSU’s pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach from 2022-23 and co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach from 2024-25.
