Ohio State wide receiver Bryson Rodgers is planning to enter the transfer portal after this season to find a new home, according to multiple reports.

Rodgers is the first Buckeye revealed to be looking for a new home after this season, and with the portal opening on Jan. 2, there are likely more coming.

Rodgers has spent three seasons with Ohio State but has struggled to catch on in the talented Buckeye wide receiver room over that time, but was able to see more action this year than he had before. He managed six catches for 79 yards and his first career touchdown. He totaled 11 catches for 125 yards over three years.

Rodgers could continue to play with Ohio State through the postseason, even if the Buckeyes make it past the quarterfinal round, though he it hasn’t been reported whether he will remain with the team during the College Football Playoff.

With Carnell Tate likely entering the NFL draft after this season, the Buckeyes will be left with Jeremiah Smith and likely Brandon Inniss, who started this season. Mylan Graham, Quincy Porter and 2026 signee Chris Henry Jr. could factor into the competition to take that position.

Rodgers has two years of eligibility remaining after this year, and if he wants to follow his wide receiver coach, Brian Hartline, to South Florida where Hartline will be the head coach next year, he likely would be welcomed in with open arms.

This is the second time Rodgers has opted to enter the transfer portal, going in after the 2024 CFP before deciding to come back to Columbus.
