Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has once again made a generous donation to Ohio State.
James, a longtime Buckeye fan and Akron native, gifted the Ohio State football team custom white, scarlet and black cleats ahead of its matchup with Penn State Saturday at noon.
In the video posted to Twitter, James expressed his appreciation for Ohio State before showcasing the custom Buckeye cleats.
“Ohio State means a lot to me,” James said in a video posted to Twitter. “If you’ve followed my journey, I’m a big-time football fan. I played football all the way through high school. It’s always been fulfilling to me and an honor for me to be able to give back. So when the Ohio State Buckeyes play Penn State, I’ve got a special gift for you all.”
This isn’t the first time “The King,” as he’s been nicknamed in the NBA, has bestowed his riches upon the Buckeyes, as James has donated both cleats and Beats headphones to Ohio State’s football and men’s and women’s basketball teams.Â
Although he never attended college, James has said multiple times that if he went to a school, Ohio State would’ve been his first choice.
It’s not required that Ohio State players wear James’ cleats, however, it’s likely multiple players will don the footwear during the Buckeyes clash with the Nittany Lions.
