Ohio State wrapped up its first Spring practice on Tuesday morning and while there wasn’t much to reveal who might start in the Spring Game on April 18, it was evident that returning players, along with several key transfers, are leading the way early on for the Buckeyes.

Along the Buckeyes’ first-team defensive line were four returners led by senior defensive ends Kenyatta Jackson Jr. and Beau Atkinson, as well as defensive tackles Will Smith Jr. and Eddrick Houston.

In the secondary, Earl Little Jr. and Jaylen McClain came out with the starting group, while Duke transfer Terry Moore was primarily with the second team.

During Ohio State’s 7-on-7 drill, Wisconsin transfer linebacker Christian Alliegro recorded a pass breakup on the goal line. In the same period, freshman linebacker Cincere Johnson matched up with senior receiver Brandon Inniss on multiple snaps and broke up one of the passes thrown their way.

LSU transfer wide receiver Kyle Parker lined up opposite Jeremiah Smith on the outside, with Inniss remaining in the slot. Freshmen Chris Henry Jr. and Jerquaden Guilford, along with UTSA transfer Devin McCuin, lined up outside with the Buckeyes’ second and third-team groups, while redshirt freshman Phillip Bell worked in the slot.

Freshman Sam Greer looked every bit of his 6-7, 335-pound frame and earned reps behind Austin Siereveld at left tackle.

Freshman Legend Bey also looked the part in running back drills, showcasing the burst and 4.33 40-yard dash speed that was advertised and placed him among one of the most talked about recruits in Ohio State’s 2026 class.
