Ohio State’s opponent is set for the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 31. The Buckeyes will match up against No. 10 Miami (Fla.) in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.

The Hurricanes cemented their spot in the Cotton Bowl by defeating Texas A&M 10-3 on Saturday.

During a windy day at the Aggies’ home stadium, Miami struggled to find consistency on offense. The Hurricanes totaled only 278 yards for the entire game and scored just three points in the first three quarters.

However, Miami went on a game-winning six-play, 86-yard touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter. The Hurricanes’ defense was outstanding against the Aggies. Miami sacked Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed seven times in the win and forced three turnovers.

Miami, which was the last at-large team to make the playoffs, enters the Cotton Bowl with an 11-2 record.

The Hurricanes and Buckeyes last squared off in 2011. Miami defeated Ohio State 24-6 in front of its home fans in that game.

The Buckeyes and Hurricanes also squared off in the BCS national championship game on Jan. 3, 2003. Ohio State upset Miami 31-24 in double overtime to win its first national championship in over 30 years.
