Despite previous reporting that Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was banned from Ohio Stadium for the Texas game, Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reported that Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork said the Big Noon Kickoff analyst
Front Office Sports’ Ross Glasspiegel reported on Monday that Portnoy, who is one of the more prominent Michigan fans, had been banned by Ohio State from entering the ‘Shoe for the Aug. 30 game. But it turns out that it was Fox’s decision to keep Portnoy out of the stadium when the Big Noon Kickoff show moves in closer to game time.
The beginning of the Big Noon Kickoff show begins outside the stadium, and Portnoy will still be able to appear for that portion, but once the show moves into the stadium as the noon kickoff approaches, Portnoy will no longer be able to be on the set.
Portnoy responded to the original tweet from Glasspiegel with a picture of himself with a fake mustache on, which earned a response from Connor Stalions — who was at the center of the Wolverines’ sign-stealing operation — asking Portnoy, “You need tickets?”
Portnoy has criticized Ohio State head coach Ryan Day many times over the last four years during the four-game win streak the Wolverines currently have over the Buckeyes.
A previous version of this story that Portnoy had been banned from the stadium by Ohio State. It has been updated to contain accurate information.
