Ohio State redshirt freshman linebacker Nigel Glover entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, the final day of the spring transfer window, according to several reports.

Glover spent just one season with the Buckeyes, arriving last summer after transferring in from Northwestern ahead of his freshman campaign following the firing of head coach Pat Fitzgerald. But he did not appear in a game last season for Ohio State, buried behind the likes of Steele Chambers, Tommy Eichenberg, Cody Simon, C.J. Hicks and Gabe Powers at linebacker.

Glover is a former four-star recruit out of Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio, where he played at safety before making the switch to linebacker at the college level. After not playing during his freshman season, Glover was also sparse during this year’s spring practice, indicating that a more significant role was still not in the cards this season.

He is the fifth Buckeye to hit the portal this spring, joining safeties Ja’Had Carter and Cedrick Hawkins, running back Dallan Hayden and offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi, who also announced his entry to the portal on Tuesday. Hayden and Hawkins have announced their respective transfers to Colorado and UCF, while the others are still searching for a program.
