Ohio State sophomore point guard Jaloni Cambridge was recognized for her sensational 2025-26 season on Wednesday. The Associated Press named Cambridge a second-team All-American. Cambridge is now the seventh player in Ohio State history to be named an All-American by the Associated Press.
The distinction comes after she averaged 22.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, while shooting 49.0 percent from the floor this season.
Cambridge, a former five-star recruit out of high school, also received second-team All-American honors from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
In Ohio State’s final regular-season game, an 87-68 win over Michigan State on March 1, Cambridge became the fifth player in program history to score 700 points in a single season.
After an outstanding regular season, Cambridge failed to live up to her extremely high standards in the Big Ten Tournament. Cambridge didn’t reach 20 points in each of Ohio State’s three Big Ten Tournament games and shot 36.2 percent from the floor.
Cambridge’s last game in the Big Ten Tournament was her weakest. She scored 12 points on 4-14 shooting to go along with four rebounds and five assists.
Despite the tough stretch, Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff was confident his point guard would get going again in the NCAA Tournament.
“Obviously, she takes a lot of pride in her game and how she impacts the team, and I love the ball being in her hands and the plays that she makes,” McGuff said immediately after Ohio State’s 72-62 loss to UCLA. “I don’t think she took a lot of bad shots today at all. I think she took good shots, and they normally go in. And if we continue to get her those types of shots, I think we’re going to be in good shape.”
Cambridge will have the chance to bounce back in Ohio State’s first NCAA Tournament game on Saturday against No. 14 Howard (11:30 a.m., ESPN 2).
