
Ohio State senior defensive end Caden Curry was the lone Buckeye named player of the game against Rutgers Saturday.
In Ohio State’s 42-9 Senior Day victory over Rutgers at Ohio Stadium, Curry’s dominant performance earned him defensive player of the game honors, leading Ohio State with six total tackles (four solo), with two sacks and tackles for loss each, while also forcing a fumble that he recovered and took to the Rutgers 1-yard line.
Through 11 games this season, Curry, a native of Greenwood, Ind., is tied for third on Ohio State with 49 tackles and is first on the Buckeyes with 13.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. Curry also leads Ohio State with five quarterback hurries as well two fumble recoveries, adding a forced fumble and a pass breakup. Curry’s sack total is tied for 12th in the FBS.
Curry was named a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award Nov. 4, which honors college football’s top defensive linemen and linebackers.
