
Ohio State headlined the Associated Press All-Big Ten Teams that were announced on Tuesday, with 12 players on the first and second teams, including a conference-best eight first-team selections.
Buckeyes wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate were two of three receivers named to the AP first team along with USC wideout Makai Lemon. The pair of star Ohio State wide receivers combined for nearly 2,000 yards of total offense and 20 touchdowns for the Buckeyes in 2025.
Quarterback Julian Sayin, left guard Luke Montgomery, running back Bo Jackson and tight end Max Klare were named members of the as second team. Sayin, a Heisman Trophy finalist, was dominant for Ohio State in 2025, throwing for 3,323 yards, 31 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Montgomery played a crucial role in helping protect Sayin, serving on an Ohio State offensive line that allowed less than a sack per game on its quarterback for the entire season.
Jackson has rushed for 1,063 yards, while adding 200 receiving yards and six total touchdowns this season. Klare has caught 43 passes for 448 yards and two scores.
On the other side of the ball, defensive end Caden Curry, defensive tackle Kayden McDonald, linebackers Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese, cornerback Davison Igbinosun and safety Caleb Downs were all named to the AP’s first-team defense.
Styles led the group with 80 total tackles (45 solo), while Reese added 62 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
Curry has been a force for Ohio State’s pass rush with a team-leading 16.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as well as 60 tackles. Downs matched Curry with 60 tackles of his own, adding two interceptions and a pass breakup as one of the nation’s most complete safeties.
McDonald was fifth on Ohio State with 57 tackles and eight tackles for loss, while Igbinosun contributed 42 stops, six pass breakups and two interceptions for the Buckeye secondary.
