Ohio State Guard Dasha Biriuk To Enter Transfer Portal

Ohio State guard Dasha Biriuk is set to enter the transfer portal, she announced via an Instagram post on Monday.

“After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal and explore new opportunities,” the post read. “I’m looking forward to finding the right fit to continue growing both on and off the court.”

Biriuk was a talented four-star recruit out of the Webb School in Tennessee, but she earned limited playing time with the Buckeyes in her only year with the team.

Appearing in 20 games for Ohio State, Biriuk averaged 3.3 points, 1.2 assists and .4 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.0 percent from the floor, including 34.4 percent from three-point range.

Biriuk was a legitimate factor for Ohio State during the team’s nonconference slate. In the Buckeyes’ dominant 130-32 win over Niagara, Biriuk scored 25 points, grabbed four rebounds, had an assist and two steals.

However, by the time Big Ten play rolled around, she was basically out of the rotation. Biriuk only appeared in nine games, receiving no more than four minutes of playing time in a single conference game.

Biriuk is the first Buckeye to announce her intent to open the portal, which opened on Monday.
