Ohio State Forward Brandon Noel Out Indefinitely With Foot Injury

Ohio State will be without its sixth man for an indefinite amount of time, with senior forward Brandon Noel out with a foot injury.

Noel suffered the injury in the 72-69 loss to No. 10 Nebraska on Monday and was in a boot for the second half and didn’t return to the game. He played just eight minutes in the contest and had two rebounds before coming out.

Noel has played in all 14 games for the Buckeyes since transferring from Wright State this offseason. He is averaging 7.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in that time, and after beginning the season in the starting lineup, has been coming off the bench for the last four games with freshman forward Amare Bynum taking that spot.

Noel’s best game this season came on Dec. 6 at Northwestern when he led the Buckeyes to a win with 29 points and seven rebounds.

The Buckeyes have not had much production from their bench in Big Ten play, so losing Noel will force someone else to step up in his place. It will likely be Colin White who rotates with Bynum when the freshman needs a breather while Noel is out.
