Ohio State Early Enrollees, Transfers Get New Jersey Numbers

With a new year of football starting, Ohio State had many different players donning new jersey numbers for the first day of spring practice.

Among the freshmen who enrolled early with the Buckeyes on the offensive side of the ball, running back Legend Bey wore No. 2, wide receivers Jerquaden Guilford and Brock Boyd wore No. 6 and No. 11, quarterback Luke Fahey is No. 13, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. wore No. 15, running back Favour Akih is No. 29, offensive linemen Landry Brede and Mason Wilhelm wore No. 66 and No. 68 while Sam Greer and Maxwell Riley wore Nos. 77 and 78, wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts wore No. 80 and tight end Nick Lautar wore No. 89.

On the defensive cornerback Jordan Thomas wore No. 15, safety Blaine Bradford wore No. 16, linebacker Cincere Johnson wore No. 20, cornerback Jay Timmons is No. 25, safety Simeon Caldwell is No. 28, safeties Khmari Bing and Kaden Gebhardt wore No. 30 and No. 32, defensive end Khary Wilder wore No. 34, linebackers CJ Sanna and Braxton Rembert wore No. 36 and No. 41, and of the defensive linemen, Damari Simeon wore No. 90, Darryus McKinley was No. 91, Emanuel Ruffin was No. 95, edge rusher Dre Quinn wore No. 97 and tackle Jamir Perez wore No. 98.

Of the transfers who are in their first semester with the Buckeyes, safety Earl Little Jr. wore No. 1, wide receiver Devin McCuin wore No. 3, defensive tackle James Smith also wore No. 3, defensive end Qua Russaw wore No. 4, wide receiver Kyle Parker wore No. 5, safety Terry Moore wore No. 11, linebacker Christian Alliegro wore No. 14, quarterback Justyn Martin wore No. 16, cornerbacks Cam Calhoun and Dominic Kelly wore Nos. 18 and 24, running back Ja’Kobi Jackson wore No. 24, defensive tackle John Walker wore No. 55, tight ends Hunter Welcing and Mason Williams wore No. 84 and No. 86, punter Brady Young wore No. 93, and kicker Connor Hawkins wore No. 96.

Many returning players also changed their numbers. Defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. is now wearing No. 2, linebacker Riley Pettijohn wore No. 5, safety Jaylen McClain wore No. 8, defensive end Zion Grady wore No. 9, safety Leroy Roker wore No. 10 and defensive end Beau Atkinson wore No. 12.
