Ohio State Cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. To Enter Transfer Portal

Yet another Buckeye is headed to the transfer portal. Sophomore cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. is entering the transfer portal, he announced on Saturday.

Out of Springfield, Ohio, Scott was a five-star prospect, ranked as the No. 36 player, the No. 6 cornerback and the No. 1 player in Ohio, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

However, in two seasons at Ohio State, Scott failed to make much of an impact. As a backup player at cornerback and a regular with the special teams unit, Scott totalled 11 tackles, including one for loss and had a pass breakup over his two seasons in Columbus.

In addition to being behind talented, veteran cornerbacks in the depth chart this year, including Davison Igbinosun and Jermaine Mathews Jr., Scott also received fewer opportunities than freshman cornerback Devin Sanchez.

Scott joins fellow sophomore Bryce West as the second Ohio State defensive back to enter the transfer portal this year.

Scott will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
