Just like on the defensive end, Ohio State had several offensive players recognized by the Big Ten on Thursday. For the second year in a row, star receiver Jeremiah Smith took home the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year honors, while redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin was named the Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year.

It was the second straight time a Buckeye won the conference’s Freshman of the Year award, as Smith earned the honor last season.

Smith was one of three Buckeyes to make both the media and coaches’ All-Big Ten first team lists. Smith was joined on each list by junior receiver Carnell Tate and junior tight end Max Klare.

On the All-Big Ten second team list were Sayin and junior offensive lineman Luke Montgomery. Freshman running back Bo Jackson and sophomore offensive lineman Austin Siereveld were named to the All-Big Ten second team by the coaches, but were named to the All-Big Ten third team by the media.

The media also added junior center Carson Hinzman, junior right guard Tegra Tshabola and sophomore offensive tackle Phillip Daniels to the All-Big Ten third team.

Tshabola was also named an All-Big Ten honorable mention by the coaches, and senior tight end Will Kacmarek was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention by both the coaches and the media.
