Sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge may be on her way to representing the USA.

The second-year Buckeye was announced on Monday as one of 21 collegiate players who will compete for a spot on the 2025 AmeriCup team during trials from June 16-19 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In her first year at Ohio State, Cambridge lived up to the lofty expectations bestowed upon her as the No. 2-ranked recruit in the class of 2024, according to ESPN’s Hoop Gurlz rankings. Cambridge averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 29 games and was named the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Year. Cambridge, who also made an appearance at three-time WNBA all-star Kelsey Plum’s “Dawg Class” this offseason, joins a roster that features other talented players like Oklahoma center Raegan Beers, TCU guard Oliva Miles and  Iowa forward Hannah Stuelke.

The FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, which started in 1989, is a competition featuring national teams from countries in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The competition has been won by the United States four times, an amount second only to the six titles won by Brazil.

The 2025 AmeriCup will take place in Santiago, Chile, from June 28 to July 6 and will consist of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico and Puerto Rico in addition to the United States.
